Artist and Educator
My experience as as artist has taught me that art is an extremely powerful method of communication that can change people and the world they live in. My hope is to use artwork to spread stories of hope throughout the world and train others to share important messages through visual communication. Over the past several years I have not only fallen more in love with art, but also with teaching. Throughout my years of teaching I have found that gearing away from a strict focus on elements of art, and instead focusing on how to think creatively and problem solve has strengthened my students as artists. We examine why we create as artists, as well as how to create meaning through exploration. To become a great artists one must learn techniques such as good drawing skills in order to communicate their creative ideas effectively, so we focus on technique as a way to achieve the end goal of message, content and meaning.
